Dim Sum in NYC: Chinatown

While vacationing in NYC you will discover many exotic restaurants and varied cuisines, especially within the heart of Chinatown. This fascinating and bustling sector of NYC provides dinner options for all kinds of occasions. Whether you're looking to enjoy an inexpensive and casual meal of Dim Sum and take an after-dinner stroll on Mott Street, or celebrating an anniversary or other special event, Chinatown will not let you down.

First stop, for those with a higher budget, is the Golden Unicorn, the famous restaurant near Manhattan Bridge, where they greet you at street level and whisk you away through a marble lobby to an upper-level banquet room ordained in Chinese Wedding Red. Infamous for their Dim Sum and Pork Buns, The Golden Unicorn is also known for their American-Chinese classic dishes, like Sweet and Sour Chicken. Prices are very reasonable, with dishes ranging between $9.00 and $25.00 apiece.

If you're looking for something more casual, try Nice Bo Green Restaurant, a Chinese diner on Bayard Street just West of the Bowery. Piles of dumplings will come from the kitchen in towers of bamboo and steel containers, followed by succulent pork and shrimp dishes with spicy fragrances, and steamy noodle soups that will make your mouth water. Prices range from $6.00 - $15.00 per dish, and the serving sizes are large - so enjoy the feast!
